Antidote Debit Card and Pharmacy Discount Card Now Available

With the launch of Antidote Health’s Debit Card and Pharmacy Discount Card, members won’t have to pay out of pocket for many of their medications, alleviating the stress of paying for healthcare.

The Antidote Debit Card, available to members of PLUS Plans, is preloaded with funds and accepted at all major pharmacies, meaning members won’t have to wait to be reimbursed when purchasing medications and other healthcare. The Debit Card can also be accessed through the Antidote App, functioning similarly to Apple Pay and Google Pay.

The Pharmacy Discount Card helps Antidote members get the best price on generic versions of their prescription drugs. For example, name brand heartburn medication Nexium can cost $305, while the generic version, Esomeprazole, can cost $203. Using the Antidote Discount Card, members can pay $11.30 for the generic drug, which would then be paid for using the debit card, rendering the prescription essentially free.

Here’s how both cards can work in practice: When Antidote members virtually see their doctor and are prescribed medications, the funds needed to cover those scripts are automatically pushed to the Debit Card. Using the Debit Card with Antidote’s prescription drug discount card can make most generic medications essentially free, furthering Antidote’s belief that access to affordable healthcare is a right.
