Mental Health Issues Can Affect Anyone, Even Celebrities

Celebrities who have suffered from mental health disorders like Kanye West are raising awareness so people can understand they are not alone

Mental Health Issues Can Affect Anyone, Even Celebrities

Mental health disorders do not distinguish between those who are famous and the rest of us. Just take a look at Kanye West and other celebrities dealing with mental health conditions. In fact, celebrities might be more prone to mental health disorders, given the amount of attention they get all the time. It must be difficult to be in the spotlight all the time, and not all of us are equipped to deal with that pressure.

On the other hand, given their high profile and the kind of access they have to mental health professionals, it is also possible that celebrities are diagnosed with mental health disorders more than your average Joe. In any case, their high-profile struggles with these disorders have served to increase awareness.

Kanye West’s bipolarism

Kanye West is definitely one of the most high-profile cases in recent memory. According to various sources, West suffers from bipolar disorder. One of the indicators is his manic approach to work coupled with self-aggrandizement.

This case is particularly well-known and highly publicized due to the rapper’s relationship with Kim Kardashian. West is reportedly looking for a facility to get behavioral treatment, and he might not be alone.

Other celebrities suffering from mental health issues

It is not only about Kanye and bipolarism. There are more celebrities who suffer from a variety of mental health disorders, some of which you might have heard from or dealt with yourself. According to the University of Utah, many celebrities have been quite vocal about their disorders, including:
