Does Antidote Health accept insurance?

Because our mission is to provide everyone with affordable healthcare, Antidote Health does not participate with any insurance companies. This allows us to keep our costs low and pass those savings on to our patients.

Anyone can use Antidote Health, whether they have insurance or not. The only exception is Medicare and Medicaid recipients because of regulations related to those programs.

Will my insurance reimburse me?

Because Antidote Health does not participate with any insurance companies, it is unlikely that your insurance would reimburse you for a visit. The good news is that Antidote Health prices are affordable enough to leave your insurance out of it. We may even cost less than your office visit copay. Plus, you save the time and transportation costs of getting to the doctor’s office.

Is Antidote Health for emergencies?

No. Antidote Health does not provide emergency care. If you think you may be experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or seek immediate emergency attention.

Can I use Antidote Health for urgent care?

Urgent care conditions are not emergencies but do require attention within 24 hours. Some urgent care situations can be treated using Antidote Health while others cannot. For instance, telehealth is not a great option if you have a deep cut requiring stitches, but it’s perfect for a variety of other issues that you might otherwise go to an urgent care center to treat, including:

Can I cancel at any time? Without fees?

You can cancel your Antidote Health subscription at any time by emailing [email protected]. The cancellation will take effect immediately and your next month’s subscription fee will not be charged. If you have not used any services in the current month, you may be eligible for a refund of the current month’s fee.

If after canceling your subscription you wish to subscribe again, there will be a 6-month waiting period for a new subscription. However, you can continue to use the one-time visit option during that time. For more information, read our full Terms of Use for Subscriptions.

Can children use Antidote Health?

Pediatric virtual care visits are possible with Antidote Health. The parent simply needs to download the app and log in with the child’s details to start their visit. Additional consents may also be required.

Do I need to create an account?

Before your online doctor visit, you will be prompted to create a secure Antidote Health account. This is how we ensure that the information your clinician will need to provide care is gathered and stored securely between visits.

Registration is simple, takes just a few moments and can be completed via either the online site or your downloaded app. Once your account is created, you can sign in to Antidote Health on the app or the web using the same username and password.

Can I schedule my online clinician visit?

You can start your telehealth appointment immediately or schedule it for the future. Simply sign in and select “See a Clinician.” Then follow the prompts to schedule your visit.

Can I add my spouse or kids to my account?

Your one-time or individual subscription account is designed for YOU. It can only be used to provide you care. However, you can choose to subscribe to a Family Plan. This will allow your spouse, children, and entire household to access Antidote Health services, provided they meet the criteria for care (are physically in a state we serve and are not eligible for Medicare or Medicaid).

Family plans are designed for 4 family members, but more can be added by contacting our support team. Learn more about our Family Plan Benefits and Pricing.

How many people can I add to my family plan?

There is no limit to the number of members on your family plan, but there is a limit to the number of visits during the subscription term (e.g., 20 visits per year). You can always purchase additional visits at a discounted rate if you need them.

Also, when you sign up for a family plan, you will find available slots for 4 family members. This is the default setting, which can be changed by contacting our support team. Learn more about our Family Plan Benefits and Pricing.

How do I reschedule my online clinician visit?

If you need to reschedule a telehealth appointment, simply sign in and then select “See a Clinician.” Follow the prompts to reschedule your visit.

Can I use Antidote Health if I don’t have insurance?

Yes! Not only can you use the virtual-health platform, it was literally designed for you! Antidote Health’s mission is to provide quality, affordable healthcare to all Americans. Period. We believe every human deserves access to affordable quality healthcare regardless of their race, location, or circumstance – including whether or not they have insurance. That’s why our plans and prices are so affordable. The only thing preventing you from trying Antidote Health is if you are not in a state we currently serve or you qualify for Medicare/Medicaid. Regulations for those programs prevent us from being able to serve Medicare or Medicaid patients.

Does Antidote Health offer health insurance?

No! Antidote Health is NOT an insurance product, health insurance plan or health insurer. Subscribing to our packages simply discounts our services for repeat users or adds additional benefits. If you are seeking health insurance, you must purchase it separately from a licensed insurance company.

How long is an online clinician visit?

Most visits only take a few minutes. But it all depends on you, your clinician and your medical complaint. Your care provider will take the time needed to fully understand and address your concerns – without wasting your time or keeping you waiting.

Can I get a medical note for work or school?

At their discretion, Antidote Health providers can provide official medical note for work or school. The cause of the absence must be a current or ongoing medical condition causing symptoms, and all notes are for a maximum of five days of absence, so it is important to schedule your telehealth visit while you are experiencing the illness. For more details see our full Medical Note Policy.

What medications can providers prescribe?

Your Antidote Health clinician can prescribe any routine, non-controlled medications. These include, but are not limited to, antibiotics, birth control pills and hypertension medications. However, as a telemedicine company we can NOT prescribe or refill-controlled substances, including most muscle relaxants, pain narcotics, ADD/ADHD medication, and insomnia medications, such as:

  • Adderall
  • Ativan
  • Ambien
  • Clonazepam
  • Equanil
  • Fiorinal
  • Lunesta
  • Lyrica
