Position Overview

Antidote Health is seeking a psychiatrist who resides in Georgia to serve as a collaborating/delegating physician for Antidote psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners (PMHNPs). This part-time/PRN collaboration role includes psychiatric consultation, Georgia Nurse Protocol Agreement oversight, chart review, prescribing oversight, complex case review, quality oversight, and clinical support. This position is focused on physician collaboration and oversight and does not include a routine direct patient care panel.

The physician will provide psychiatric expertise to support Antidote's telehealth, quality, utilization management, and accreditation programs, including consultation on complex behavioral health cases, medication management, safety escalation, clinical standards, and care coordination. This role requires Georgia residency, an active and unrestricted Georgia medical license, and the ability to meet all Georgia requirements for a delegating physician under a Nurse Protocol Agreement.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish, execute, and maintain Georgia Nurse Protocol Agreements with eligible Antidote PMHNPs in accordance with applicable Georgia requirements and Antidote policy.
• Fulfill all responsibilities of a delegating physician under each Nurse Protocol Agreement, including required availability, consultation, oversight, and periodic review.
• Remain available by phone or secure electronic communication to provide timely psychiatric consultation regarding diagnostic questions, medication management, safety concerns, case escalations, and care that may exceed a PMHNP's authorized scope or the capabilities of the telehealth model.
• Review PMHNP patient charts and clinical documentation at the frequency required by Georgia law, each Nurse Protocol Agreement, and organizational policy, including focused review of higher-risk, controlled-substance, safety, complaint, and escalated cases when applicable.
• Provide oversight of psychotropic and controlled-substance prescribing when authorized under the Nurse Protocol Agreement, including adherence to applicable Georgia and federal requirements and prescription drug monitoring program obligations.
• Review and provide physician input on psychiatric protocols, clinical standards, prescribing parameters, escalation pathways, and amendments that affect collaborative practice.
• Document consultations, chart reviews, findings, recommendations, and follow-up actions accurately and within required timeframes.
• Provide timely practitioner feedback and education when documentation, prescribing, clinical decision-making, or adherence to established protocols requires improvement.
• Attend and participate in Antidote's Quality Committee and contribute psychiatric expertise to quality improvement activities, including review of behavioral health clinical trends, quality measures, complaints, adverse events, corrective actions, and opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in complex behavioral health case review and provide psychiatrist-level consultation for high-risk, diagnostically complex, treatment-resistant, safety-related, or escalated cases as needed.
• Support Antidote's Utilization Management (UM) Program as needed by providing psychiatric subject-matter expertise for behavioral health clinical criteria, policies, complex case review, program evaluation, appeals, and other physician input consistent with applicable role requirements.
• Support NCQA accreditation and ongoing compliance activities involving behavioral health, including participation in relevant committee oversight, clinical program review, quality improvement, and documentation of physician involvement as applicable.
• Support credentialing, compliance, audit, and regulatory activities related to the collaborating-provider arrangement, and promptly disclose any change in licensure, credentials, DEA registration, availability, or other status that could affect the ability to serve as a delegating physician.

Qualifications

Required:

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
• Active, unrestricted medical license in Georgia.
• Current primary residence and principal place of practice in Georgia.
• Board certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.
• Experience in telepsychiatry, managed behavioral healthcare, population health, or integrated care delivery.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-residency clinical experience in psychiatry.
• Knowledge of psychiatric coding and documentation, behavioral health HEDIS measures, measurement-based care, and risk adjustment principles.
• Willingness and ability to enter into and maintain Georgia Nurse Protocol Agreements with Antidote PMHNPs.
• Experience diagnosing and treating common psychiatric conditions across the adult lifespan, including mood, anxiety, trauma-related, attention, sleep, and substance-related disorders.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and telehealth platforms.
• Reliable internet connection and private workspace suitable for confidential telehealth care.

Preferred:

• Experience serving as a collaborating, supervising, or delegating psychiatrist for PMHNPs.
• Experience with or strong familiarity with NCQA behavioral health standards, accreditation requirements, behavioral health quality measures, and quality improvement programs.
• Active, unrestricted medical licenses in additional Antidote service states, particularly Ohio, Arizona, and Texas.
• Current DEA registration and eligibility to prescribe controlled substances in Georgia, if applicable to the role and Nurse Protocol Agreement.

• Collaborative approach to quality improvement, compliance, and cross-functional partnership.

Compensation and Benefits

• Monthly collaboration stipend: $550 per actively assigned PMHNP.
• Stipend covers the collaboration, consultation, chart review, Quality Committee, complex case review, UM support, and related oversight responsibilities described in this role.
