Head of ICHRA
Antidote Health is seeking a Head of ICHRA to lead our Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA) line of business — owning its strategy, partnerships, and P&L. As Antidote’s first dedicated ICHRA leader, this executive will translate the company’s strong individual-ACA position into a compelling employer-funded offering: establishing ICHRA administration (BenTech) platform partnerships, building a broker and benefits-consultant distribution channel, shaping a competitive off-exchange product, and standing up ICHRA compliance and operations.
About the Company
Antidote Health is a tech- driven health insurance company on a mission to make healthcare easy, accessible, and more affordable. We’re rethinking how healthcare works—using technology to remove the friction, complexity, and delays that define the traditional system. Instead of navigating paperwork, long waits, and disconnected experiences, we’re building a simpler, more connected way for people to get care.
Our platform combines health coverage, virtual care, and a modern member experience into one seamless system designed to help people actually use their benefits.
We offer Affordable Care Act (ACA) health plans in Arizona and Ohio, and we’re growing quickly. We’re building a company focused on solving real problems—with real impact on people’s lives.
Position Overview
Antidote Health is seeking a Head of ICHRA to lead our Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA) line of business — owning its strategy, partnerships, and P&L. As Antidote’s first dedicated ICHRA leader, this executive will translate the company’s strong individual-ACA position into a compelling employer-funded offering: establishing ICHRA administration (BenTech) platform partnerships, building a broker and benefits-consultant distribution channel, shaping a competitive off-exchange product, and standing up ICHRA compliance and operations. The ICHRA line of business will operate as its own focused, standalone P&L. This is a high-impact, entrepreneurial leadership role with team-building responsibilities and meaningful influence on Antidote’s growth, and the mandate to build the business from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- ICHRA Strategy & P&L: Own the ICHRA line of business end to end. Define and execute the go-to-market strategy, set priorities across target markets, and manage the ICHRA P&L — including per-employee-per-month (PEPM) revenue, membership growth, and employer retention.
- Platform (BenTech) Partnerships: Establish and manage partnerships with leading ICHRA administration (BenTech) platforms, securing preferred-carrier placement, enrollment integrations, and carrier credentialing so Antidote plans reach ICHRA shoppers effectively.
- Broker & Distribution Channel Development: Build the employer distribution engine. Recruit and certify ICHRA-specialized benefits consultants, convert existing individual-ACA broker and FMO relationships into employer-market sellers, and design competitive PEPM-based commission economics that remove the historical disincentive to sell defined-contribution benefits.
- Off-Exchange Product & Network: Partner with Product, Actuarial/Pricing, Network, and Clinical teams to shape a competitive off-exchange plan portfolio — with the metal-tier coverage ICHRA shoppers expect — and a network approach that meets adequacy standards and supports employer needs. Position Antidote’s virtual-first payvider model as a genuine differentiator for active plan selectors.
- ICHRA Compliance & Operations: Stand up ICHRA-specific compliance and operations — employer affordability notices, ERISA-adjacent plan documentation, IRS reporting coordination, and employer onboarding workflows — in partnership with Legal/Compliance and Operations, ensuring a smooth and compliant employer experience.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner across Product, Technology, Data, Actuarial, Clinical, and Operations to operationalize ICHRA and integrate it into Antidote’s systems, analytics, and workflows for maximum impact.
- Team Leadership: As the segment grows, build and lead a high-performing employer-market team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
Qualifications
Required:
- Employer Benefits / ICHRA Experience: 10+ years in employer health benefits, group insurance, ICHRA/BenTech, or managed-care distribution, including direct experience with defined-contribution or individual-market employer products.
- Strategic Leadership: Proven track record of building and leading a new product line or market segment at the executive level (VP, GM, or department head), including P&L ownership and direction of cross-functional teams and initiatives.
- Distribution & Partnership Expertise: Demonstrated success building broker/consultant channels and/or platform (BenTech) partnerships, and structuring commission or PEPM compensation models that drive adoption.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of ICHRA rules (IRS/DOL/HHS), the ACA individual and off-exchange markets, affordability and premium-tax-credit interaction, ERISA-adjacent compliance, and network adequacy standards.
- Analytical & Data-Driven: Strong ability to analyze cost, utilization, affordability, and unit economics, and to drive data-informed decisions that optimize segment performance.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field (advanced degree such as MBA, MHA, or MPH is a plus).
Preferred:
- Experience in a high-growth or innovative healthcare, insurtech, or benefits-technology environment, demonstrating adaptability and hands-on leadership.
- Direct experience with ICHRA administration platforms, or as an ICHRA-selling benefits broker/consultant.
- Familiarity with off-exchange individual markets and defined-contribution benefit design.
- Multi-state employer distribution experience, with comfort serving the SMB and mid-market employer segments.
- Advanced degree or professional certifications in healthcare management, benefits, or business.
Competencies
- Builder / 0-to-1 Operator: Energized by standing up a new line of business from the ground up; comfortable with ambiguity and hands-on execution.
- Strategic Thinker: Visionary with the ability to craft and articulate a long-term ICHRA strategy aligned with company goals.
- Collaborative Leader: Excels at cross-department teamwork and builds strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Data-Driven & Analytical: Highly analytical mindset, leveraging data and metrics to drive decisions and measure success.
- Adaptable & Growth-Oriented: Thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, demonstrates agility in responding to change, and fosters innovation.
- Persuasive Communicator: Excellent negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing brokers, platform partners, employers, and senior stakeholders effectively.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range: $225,000-$265,000 (commensurate with experience and location) plus annual performance bonus (Total compensation can amount to $350,000+)
- Eligibility for equity
- Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision
- 401(k)
- Paid vacation and sick time and company holidays
Company Standards and Expectations
- Employment is at-will, meaning either the employee or the company may terminate employment at any time, with or without cause, in accordance with applicable law
- Employees are expected to adhere to all company policies, including confidentiality, data protection, and code of conduct
- Responsibilities may evolve based on business needs, and flexibility is expected as the company scales
