About the Company

Antidote Health is a tech-driven health insurance company on a mission to make healthcare easier, accessible, and more affordable. We’re rethinking how healthcare works—using technology to remove the friction, complexity, and delays that define the traditional system. Instead of navigating paperwork, long waits, and disconnected experiences, we’re building a simpler, more connected way for people to get care.

Our platform combines health coverage, virtual care, and a modern member experience into one seamless system designed to help people actually use their benefits.

We offer Affordable Care Act (ACA) health plans in Arizona, Ohio, Georgia, and Texas, and we’re growing quickly. We’re building a company focused on solving real problems—with real impact on people’s lives.

Position Overview

Antidote Health is hiring an FP&A leader to build and lead our Financial Planning & Analysis function, starting as a hands-on leader reporting directly to the CFO, with the opportunity to grow the team as we scale.

The FP&A leader will own the company’s financial model, forecasting, and management and investor reporting; serve as the internal financial counterpart to our actuarial partners; bring FP&A best practices and implement a dedicated FP&A platform; instill spend discipline; and act as a strategic finance partner across the business.

Applicants must note this is a Hybrid opportunity with 2 days a week in our office in NYC.

‍
Key Responsibilities

  • Own the corporate financial model, driver-based forecasting, annual budget, and rolling reforecasts across all lines of business and states.
  • Own the BvA process and the cadence of management, board, and investor reporting.
  • Build a clear KPI framework spanning membership, PMPM economics, MLR, administrative ratios, and unit economics.
  • Own cash flow forecasting, including monthly APTC and the annual risk-adjustment settlement.
  • Build and own risk-adjustment transfer forecasting and scenario analysis, partnering with actuarial on assumptions and RADV exposure.
  • Model enrollment and margin under multiple government and market scenarios to inform pricing, growth, and financial planning.
  • Serve as the financial integrator across actuarial teams—owning one reconciled financial view and a single agreed medical-cost trend, and translating actuarial output into P&L impact, forecast, and board narrative.
  • Partner with actuarial on the MLR forecast, rebate accrual, and the P&L and cash impact of both, as well as on unit-cost and contracting scenarios and their effect on MLR and margin across the book.
  • Instill spend discipline with real authority: establish and enforce budget-approval thresholds, purchase gating, and headcount planning, with a clear escalation path to the CFO and defined handoffs with Accounting on execution.
  • Select, implement, and drive adoption of a dedicated FP&A platform, sequencing the rollout so it complements rather than delays the delivery of FP&A value.
  • Build the financial models and unit economics for new lines as the company diversifies.

Qualifications

Required
  • 7+ years of progressive FP&A experience in health insurance, preferably with direct experience in the ACA market.
  • Strong working knowledge of health plan financial drivers, including MLR and medical cost trend, HHS-HCC risk adjustment and RADV, PMPM economics, membership and effectuation forecasting, APTC/subsidy dynamics, and annual rate filing and review with state DOIs and CMS.
  • Proven ability to build and own driver-based financial models while managing cash, burn, and runway, ideally in a risk-bearing organization where regulatory or statutory capital is separate from operating cash.
  • Proven ability to convert actuarial outputs into financial forecasts and executive-ready narratives while rigorously challenging the underlying assumptions.
  • Track record of budget management and financial governance.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to tell a clear, credible story with numbers to executives, the board, and investors.
  • Ability to operate as a hands-on individual contributor in a lean, fast-moving environment at the start and lead and develop the FP&A function as the company grows.
Preferred
  • Experience in Insurtech or a high-growth startup, with the ability to thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced startup environment.
  • Exposure to multiple funding models, including ICHRA, level-funded/stop-loss, and/or ASO—or a demonstrated ability to stand up finance models for unfamiliar structures.
  • Experience selecting and implementing an FP&A platform (e.g., Planful, Pigment, Vena, or Anaplan).
  • Multi-state health plan experience.
  • Familiarity with statutory accounting (SAP) and state DOI reporting for licensed plans.
  • Experience partnering closely with in-house and consulting actuaries.
Competencies
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen
  • Ability to operate independently and manage competing priorities
  • Strong collaboration and cross-functional partnership skills
  • Results-oriented with a focus on execution
  • Intellectual rigor—pressure-tests assumptions and models rather than accepting outputs at face value

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary range: $200,000-215,000 (commensurate with experience and location)
  • Eligibility for equity
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision
  • 401(k)
  • Paid vacation, sick time, and company holidays
Company Standards and Expectations
  • Employment is at-will, meaning either the employee or the company may terminate employment at any time, with or without cause, in accordance with applicable law.
  • Employees are expected to adhere to all company policies, including confidentiality, data protection, and code of conduct.
  • Responsibilities may evolve based on business needs, and flexibility is expected.
  • Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations is required.
